Barbara J. Neeley, 72, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 11:17 A.M. EST Monday, February 21, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Indiana. Born in Pana, Illinois on June 9, 1938, she was the daughter of Maath Ariel Pease and Edith Ruth (Reamsnyder) Pease. She graduated from Robinson High School – Class of 1956. Barbara was a school bus driver for Oblong Community Unit #4 School District for 33 years retiring in 1996. She was also a nurses aid at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois for many years. She was a member of Bible Chapel Church, rural Robinson and also attended Berlin Church, rural Oblong, Illinois. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gospel sings, traveling as well as taking care of her children and grandchildren.
On February 10, 1956, she married Charley “Bud” Neeley, who preceded her in death on January 8, 1993. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Gladys Yingst and a sister-in-law, Linda Pease.
Barbara is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah & Jerry Ping, Ruth & Spence Vernia, Beth & Jeff Hawkins, Heather & Shane Wilber and Kristin & Sean Wolf; 19 grandchildren, Jeremy & Valerie Ping, Andy & Jerin (Ping) Romack, Charles “Buddy” Clough, Christopher Ryan Clough, Erica Vernia, Tyler Shields, Jesse Shields, Erica Tracy & Greg Staley, Alisha Tracy, Derek Tracy, Jessica Hawkins & Caleb Mendenhall, Joshua Hawkins, Shaelyn Wilber, Katelyn Wilber, Chance Wilber, Sheri Wolf, Troy Wolf, Mykala Wolf and Grayson Wolf; 8 great-grandchildren, Breanne McKinley, Jerrett Ping, Jaxson Ping, Chace Leckey, Riley Leckey, Avery Romack, Madison & Cierra Staley; one brother and sister-in-law, Maath & Teri Pease; several nieces & nephews; one uncle; one aunt and several cousins
